Executive Director Miyoko Pettit-Toledo participated in the inaugural William S. Richardson School of Law Business Boot Camp held during Spring Break (March 15-19, 2021) for law students. The final evening of the week-long program featured a Zoom panel consisting of Miyoko; UH Law Professor Sherry Broder; Attorney Todd Tanaka of local law firm, Schneider Tanaka Radovich Andrew & Tanaka; and Lea Hong, State Director of 501(c)(3) non-profit, The Trust for Public Land and was moderated by Ted Pettit, Miyoko’s father and name partner at Case Lombardi Pettit, A Law Corporation. Miyoko shared her personal experiences at a private firm and a non-profit and highlighted the importance of financial literacy, understanding business and commercial fundamentals (like taxes and financial statements), and financial and business skills for young lawyers.
