What services do MaxCorp’s social workers provide?
MaxCorp’s social work services are tailored to each client’s unique needs and are determined by MaxCorp’s role as trustee, conservator/guardian, or personal representative, but may include the following:
– Conducting initial assessments to determine clients’ needs and goals;
– Researching and advocating for appropriate public assistance resources, as needed, such as reporting concerns to the State of Hawaii’s Adult Protective Services or the Office of the Public Guardian;
– Communicating with clients’ care teams and regularly checking in on clients’ health and well-being;
– Actively listening and communicating directly with clients, when possible, to understand current needs and goals;
– Working with caregivers and MaxCorp’s legal team to ensure clients are living within an accurate monthly and annual budget;
– Preparing the necessary applications for clients to qualify them for Medicaid and other government assistance programs;
– Communicating with Medicare, Medicaid, the Social Security Administration, and other government agencies to ensure clients’ applications and requests are processed and clients’ needs are met;
– Communicating and coordinating directly with clients, clients’ care teams, and MaxCorp’s legal team to provide necessary support, information, and resources for various issues that may arise, including but not limited to:
○ Food, medication, and other basic necessities
○ Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
○ Monthly/weekly allowances to cover basic necessities
○ Home and car repairs, renovations, or upgrades
○ Insurance claims and payments of deductibles or co-pay amounts
○ Transitions from at-home care to assisted living facilities or care homes; and
○ Ensuring client files are up to date and accurate.

– Recording transactions such as income/receipts and distributions/payments and posting such transactions to the appropriate accounts;
– Processing payments;
– Recording debits and credits;
– Conducting daily banking activities;
– Preparing and producing various financial reports;
– Reconciling reports to third-party records, such as bank or investment account statements;
– Monitoring variances from the financial budget;
– Arranging for the preparation for 1099s and other financial reports required for tax purposes; and
– Preparing financial reports for clients and/or the court at least annually.
