After nearly seven years of service, Executive Director Malia I. Alexander will depart MaxCorp on October 30 to launch her solo practice where she will focus on estate and elder law matters. Malia joined MaxCorp as a Staff Attorney in 2020 and became Executive Director in early 2022. Under her leadership, MaxCorp more than doubled its staff, improved operational efficiency, strengthened its technology infrastructure, and modernized legacy systems, expanding the organization’s capacity to meet the rising need for services among our aging population and broader community. Malia brought sound judgment, compassion, and integrity to her work, and spoke up when necessary to ensure that vulnerable members of our community received the support they needed and that their legal rights were protected. 

We are pleased to welcome Connie Chang as MaxCorp’s new Executive Director, effective November 1. Connie joined MaxCorp earlier this month as a Staff Attorney and has been working with the team to prepare for the leadership transition. She brings substantial legal experience spanning corporate and nonprofit matters, governance and compliance, legal technology, and legal research. Her commitment to MaxCorp’s mission and to serving our community will guide the organization through its next chapter.
